A safety apparatus for use in a vehicle having a braking system activated by fluid pressure. The safety apparatus includes an occupant restraint, a sensor, and an actuator. The occupant restraint is operable from an unactuated condition to an actuated condition to restrain movement of an occupant relative to the vehicle. The sensor detects a change in fluid pressure in the braking system. The actuator is connected with the sensor and the occupant restraint to actuate the occupant restraint in response to the sensor detecting the fluid pressure in the braking system reaching a predetermined magnitude. |
