The camcoder deck includes the head drum and tape guide member, in which, in use, the axis of rotation of the head drum is parallel to the axis of rotation of the spool of a video cassette received in the deck. The guide member comprises two pins inclined relative to the drum axis of rotation and arranged to guide the tape from a first tape path and present it to a first circumferential portion of the drum. The guide member also includes a device to guide the tape helically around the drum and ensure contact. Third and fourth pins are inclined relative to the axis of rotation of the drum and arranged to receive the tape from a second circumferential portion of the head drum. The second circumferential portion is axially displaced with respect to the first circumferential portion, and guides the tape to a second path level with the first tape path.
