In a floating-caliper disc-brake, the caliper 1 is held by leaf-spring 11 spanning the padremoval-slot and passing over the pad-retaining- pins 8 and under the limbs of an inverted U- shaped carrier-member 4. The U-part of the carrier-member embraces the disc 3 and has an aperture to accommodate and guide the brake pads. As shown, the leaf-spring is of cruciform shape and the cross-arms 12 bear on the brake-pad back-plates to prevent them wobbling. |
