Audio signals synchronising and processing system - for multichannel recording records code signal which represents channel being used

The synchronising and processing system, for multi-channel audio signals recorded on magnetic tape, records a code signal in the tape at the same time as the audio signal or in a separate process. The code signal is made to refer to a given channel and is used to identify and assign that channel. The parameters of an audio signal in any given channel can be altered by a control circuit as required. The audio signals and the code signals are processed in parallel by the multichannel replay circuitry. The system allows e.g. tape recordings to be synchronised to e.g. cine film.
