PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of operation required for correcting erroneously recognized characters in handwritten character recognition. SOLUTION: When a 1st candidate character does not become an intended character in the character recognized result, an erroneous recognition correcting part 307 selects the intended character (called correction character later) out of a candidate character group, replaces it with the 1st candidate character (called erroneously recognized character later) and stores the pair of an erroneously recognized character and a correction character in a correction character pair storage part 308. When there are erroneously recognized characters in a recognized result character string displayed on a display part 306, an erroneously recognized character correction instructing part 309 instructs the correction performed by a user. When there is a character matched with the erroneously recognized characters in the correction character pair stored in the correction character pair storage part 308 among character strings stored in a storage part 303, while receiving the instruction from the erroneously recognized character correction instructing part 306, a correction character replacing part 310 replaces such a character with the correspondent correction character. |
