The system controls a projectile which has at least two rudders and two sprockets. The latter are arranged parallel to each other on both sides of the rudder axles about the projectile fuselage. The sprockets are driven by pinions which are driven by electric motors and run continuously. Two free running drive wheels (11,17) are arranged on each rudder axle (18). The drive wheels are in engagement with sprockets (7,8) and rotate with them such that they run in opposite directions. A coupling plate (19) is arranged between the drive wheels. The coupling plate can be connected with a respective one of the drive wheels so that the rudder (3) is rotated in the desired direction.
