Solar radiation sensor for detecting intensity and direction, for vehicle air conditioner control

Temperature sensors (24, 26) are arranged on the left and right sides (16,18) of a vehicle. The sensors are thermally coupled to the side surfaces of the vehicle, which absorb solar radiation. The surfaces may be partially blackened, and the sensors stuck on. A further sensor may be provided on a reflective surface inside the vehicle. An Independent claim is included for a vehicle dashboard with an integral temperature sensor.
