PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity and surface hardness of a plastic material. SOLUTION: When ions produced from an ion source 13 are accelerated in an accelerating tube 17, the irradiation energy of ions is changed by controlling the electric field applied on the accelerating tube 17. Thereby, the density of ion irradiation in the depth direction on the surface of the object 20 is controlled and the distribution of Young's modulus is controlled.
