BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABBIK AG 24 April 1970 [25 April 1969] 19804/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R1,R2,R3and R4may be the same or different, and each denotes an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic radical, or one radical R1and the radical R2,or the radical R2 and the pair of radicals R1together with the adjacent, nitrogen atom may also be members of a heterocyclic ring, the individual radicals R3 and R4may alternatively each denote a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, one radical R3and one radical R4or the pair of radicals R3and the pair of radicals R4together with the two adjacent carbon atoms may also be members of a ring, one radical R3and one radical R4may alternatively denote a second bond between the two adjacent carbon atoms, and the individual radicals R5may be identical or different and may denote a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic radical or an aromatic radical. These compounds may be prepared by reacting a tertiary amine of formula NR1R1R2, wherein R1and R2have the above meanings with a 1,2-alkylene oxide of formula where R5has the above meanings, and with a dicarboxylic anhydride of formula where R3and R4 have the above meanings. Many compounds are prepared in the examples.
