Continuous surface treatment process, esp. for etching and cleaning of strip, e.g metal esp. steel strip, in which the strip passes approximately horizontally through a treatment chamber supplied with a treatment liquid, esp. etching liquid, and the surface to be treated is subjected to an increased shear force between the surface and treatment liquid. Process equipment is also claimed.
