PURPOSE:To minimize the deviation value of the starting characeristics of a rapid start fluorescent lamp, by restricting the amount of antimony trioxide added to tin oxide to in a given range. CONSTITUTION:A transparent conductive film containing varying ratio to tin oxide (wt%) of antimony trioxide, is formed on the inner wall of a glass case which is to be tightly sealed. Electric resistance RA of the transparent conductive film after the formation of the film, and electric resistance RB of the film after the film is sintered in a sintering furnace are measured. After that, the amount of antimony trioxide added to tin oxide, and the ratio of the RB to RA are plotted. The RB/RA value is extraordinary large when the ratio of antimony trioxide to thin oxide is less than 3wt%, while the RB/RA value becomes around 1 when the ratio of antimony trioxide to tin oxide is over 3wt%. The above fact indicates that small or extremely small variation in the electric resistance of the film is caused by the sintering of the film. Consequently, the deviation of the starting characteristic of a rapid start fluorescent lamp is reduced by adding over 3wt% of antimony trioxide. The ratio of antimony trioxide added to tin oxide is restricted to between 3wt% and 15wt%. |
