PURPOSE:To obtain the subject ink, composed of a water-in-oil type emulsion prepared by blending specific amounts of an oily phase containing a specific reversible color developing colorant with an aqueous phase and suitable for readily, reversibly and repeatedly coloring and decoloring recorded images. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink is composed of a water-in-oil type emulsion composed of (A) 10-50wt.% oily phase containing a reversibly and thermally color developing colorant [capable of forming a color developed state obtained by heating the colorant at a melting temperature or above and a decolored state obtained by heating the color developed state at a lower temperature than the melting temperature and providing a separated and crystallized component (ii)] composed of (i) an electron donative coloring compound of formula I or II [R<1> is H or 1-4C alkyl; R<2> is H or amino which may be substituted; X is H, 1-4C alkyl, etc.; Y is H, 1-4C alkyl, etc.; (m) and (n) are 1 or 2; R<3> is 1-12C alkyl, allyl, etc.; R<4> is 1-12C alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, etc.] and (ii) an electron accepting compound of formula III, TV, V [R<5> is 8-30C alkyl or alkenyl; R<6> is 6-28C alkyl or alkenyl; R<7> is same as R<5>; Z is O or S; (m) is 0, 1 or 2], etc., and (B) 90-50wt.% aqueous phase. |
