<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color tone control method for carrying out accurate color tone management by deciding representative points suitable for color measurement, and to provide a representative point deciding device. <P>SOLUTION: The color tone control method for regulating color tone of a printed matter, by comparing image data being a reference with image data photographic images of the printed matter printed practically with a printer, comprises a process for setting the representative points for setting the representative points used in control of the color tone, on the basis of the image data; a process for setting substitution representative points satisfying prescribed conditions, when points improper for the measurement of the color tone are selected as the representative points; and a process for regulating the color tone for regulating the color tone by using the substitution representative points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
