PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion of the connection members and the end members of a manifold due to electrolyte in a simple method. SOLUTION: This battery has a cell layer formed with cells, each having an electrolytic plate 35 held between an anode electrode 36 and a cathode electrode 33, layered via separator plates 18, held between an anode end plate 39 as the end of the battery and a cathode end plate 46 and provided with an anode gas flow passage 37 and a cathode gas flow passage 34 to guide anode gas and cathode gas to the anode electrode and the cathod electrode, respectively, an anode side end member and a cathode side end member to hold the cell layer between both sides of the respective end members and manifolds 41 to supply/exhaust gas to/from the respective gas flow passages. The manifold supply/exhaust mechanisms 44 to supply/exhaust gas from the outside to the respective manifolds are connected to the respective manifolds via the cathode end plate or the cathode side end member. |
