PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce risk of interference of a piston and a cylinder. SOLUTION: A high temperature-side cylinder 30H of a Sterling engine 100 comprises a sleeve 30HR and a cylinder block 30HB. A high temperature-side piston 20H reciprocates in the sleeve 30HR. The sleeve 30HR is connected to a heater 105 heating an operation fluid of the Sterling engine 100 and is constructed to receive transmitted heat of the heater 105. The cylinder block 30HB is placed outside the sleeve 30HR. A predetermined gap is provided between the sleeve 30HR and the cylinder block 30HB to form an air layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
