The present invention provides an optical communication method and system which make tapping more difficult than in the prior art. An optical communication system (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a photon pair generation unit (112) which generates a correlation photon pair; a polarizer (121) which is provided in the optical path of one of the correlation photon pair and is able to change the direction thereof on the basis of transmitted information; a shutter (118) which is provided between the photon pair generation unit and the polarizer in the optical path of the one of the correlation photon pair and is able to block the one of the correlation photon pair; and a photon detector (116) which is provided in the optical path of the other of the correlation photon pair. |
