[Also in Division E2] A safety device for use on a lifting frame comprising turnable joining dowels 8 for detachably fastening the frame to a container through its corner-pieces 9 comprises a locking element 6 for preventing inadvertent disengagement of the frame from the container. As shown, when the frame (represented by members 1, 2) is lowered a pin 4 is lifted against a spring 5 to raise the locking element 6 out of a notch 14 on the dowel 8. The dowel 8 can then be rotated 90 degrees in a clockwise direction fastening the frame to the container and bringing a notch 7 underneath the locking element 6. When the hoisting operation is initiated surfaces 15 and 16 become slightly separated, allowing the spring 5 to engage element 6 in the notch 7. |
