<p>PURPOSE:To make the optical cable rich in flexibility, to determine its position, and to structure the optical cable strongly against an external force by introduce an optical fiber in a gap formed in the meshing part of a spirally meshed pipe. CONSTITUTION:Both edges of a metallic tape 2 are folded in a corrugate shape in opposite directions, and one edge is spirally meshed with the other edge to form the pipe 1. At this time, the gap 3 determined by the corrugate shape and its size is formed. Further, the optical fiber 4 is put in the gap part when the tape 2 is spirally meshed. This formed optical fiber can smoothly be bent since the tape 2 mutually slips at the mesh part and the optical fiber 4 is put in the gap 3, so there is no shift in position. The size of the gap 3 and the pitch of the spiral pipe 1 are determined by the width, corrugate shape, and size of the tape 2 and desired values can be selected.</p> |
