<p>In known reactors, for example of the UASB type, solids-containing waste waters, in particular polluted with settling materials, lead to failure of continuous operation. The novel reactor is to permit a novel process for integrated mechanical and anaerobic biological purification. In the reactor according to the invention, a separating device is therefore provided between the feed and overflow, which separating device can be passed by the waste water in both directions, but is essentially impassable to settling material. The process according to the invention comprises inflow of the solids-containing waste water, sedimentation of the settling materials in the reactor, and also the anaerobic biological purification of the waste water, all substances being able to be circulated and being able to be re-used in parent processes.</p> |
