<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which running off of an adhesive to a side face site of the separator can be suppressed to which a reference part of an assembling jig is contacted. <P>SOLUTION: (1) This is the fuel cell having two separators 1, 2 opposed to each other pinching an MEA, in which at least one of the separators has a contacting part 5 in its circumference with which the standard part 30 of the assembling jig is contacted locally at the time of assembling, while the opposed separator has a recess 7 formed in opposite site to the contacting part 5 in retreating direction separating from the standard part 30. (2) The contacting part 5 belongs to a projection 6. (3) The recess 7 is formed in the peripheral part of the separator along a part between the adjacent manifolds 24.
