1312559 Weft presenters FELIX TONNAR GmbH 18 Aug 1971 [18 Aug 1970] 38852/71 Heading DIE A weft presenter comprises a gripper 18 attached to a pivotable shaft 9 extending in the weft direction, and two weft-grinding swivel arms 16 and 17 fixed to a pivotable shaft 15. Initially, Fig. 14, gripper 18 is positioned between arms 16 and 17 and then swivels downwardly to bend the yarn across the path of a gripper shuttle 4, as the yarn is cut between the gripper 18 and selvedge 24 (Fig. 15, not shown), and the arms 16, 17 rise. When the shuttle 4 has gripped the weft and moved into the fell the gripper 18 rises again and arms 16 and 17 descend to steady and guide the weft. Gripper 18 consists of a U-shaped member 18b pivoted at 22 to an arm 18a, and one leg 18b' of member 18b is biassed by a spring 22 against arm 18a. The gripper is opened by a fixed cam 21 as it rises. Shaft 15 is oscillated by a cam (10), Fig. 3 (not shown) on shaft 9 acting on a follower 14, and shaft 9 is oscillated by a crank (5) driven by a shaft of the loom. |
