<p>PURPOSE:To perform high-quality edge processing even to enlarged images by performing smoothing edge emphasis as thinning and edge processing in the sub scanning direction to the image data of a read original and performing enlargement and interpolation respectively in main and sub directions. CONSTITUTION:Concerning a read image 91 in the matrix of 5X3, edge emphasis is performed as shown by an image 92 and finally, image data enlarged and interpolated 200% in the main scanning and sub scanning directions are obtained. In this case, edge emphasis processing 72 is added to image data before enlargement processing is performed so as to effectively perform edge emphasis to the enlarged images and afterwards, main scanning enlargement is performed by a main scanning enlarging circuit 73. Concerning the sub scanning direction, the image data read at a prescribed enlargement magnification are thinned, spriously equal magnification images are obtained, edge emphasis processing is added to them and afterwards, enlarging interpolation 74 is performed so as to obtain an epoch-making prescribed enlargement magnification similarly to the main scanning direction.</p> |
