The lawn mower has a hood shaped chassis (10) under which a rotary cutter is mounted and driven by an electric motor. The cutter has a releasable running rollers (16,18) on axes (12,14) on the chassis. The chassis has a telescopic or folding handle (30) and a box (62) to receive the mower. The rollers can be fitted on a storage axle (24) when the mower is stored.
