摘要 A method for three-dimensional dimension measurement of objects 1 which are transported through or moved in relation to a measuring frame 4 in order, by incremental measurements of height, width and length of the object, to calculate the cubic and circumscribed volume of the object. Each transmitter/receiver element pair in the measuring frame 4 is calibrated by regulating the quantity of light emitted from the transmitter and the receiver threshold level in such a manner that the signal/noise ratio for the receiver lies above a certain limit, at the same time as the illumination time is kept as short as possible. For the incremental measurements, at least one pair consisting of a transmitter element and a receiver element lying directly opposite in the measuring frame 4 is activated at a time, and an external signal as a function of the movement of the object in relation to the measuring frame is compared with the registered signals from the receiver elements for calculating said volumes. The measuring frame is constructed in the form of horizontal and vertical transmitter/receiver modules 6.1, 6.2; 8.1, 8.2; 7.1, 7.2; 9.1, 9.2 which consist of said transmitter elements and, respectively, receiver elements. Connected to the measuring frame is a computer 2 for calibrating the respective transmitter and receiver elements in the measuring frame 4 and for calculating said volumes which are deduced on the basis of shadow images of the object on the receiver elements. A display 22 is connected to the computer for displaying the volume of the object. The method is used for, for example, calculating the freight price of objects. <IMAGE>
