PURPOSE:To improve the operability of the titled device in a continuous photographing state of a camera by inhibiting searching operation in the continuous photographing state. CONSTITUTION:When the output of a sensor device SNS is in a low contrast because the defocused value of a photographing lens is high, so-called 'searching operation' expecting the rise of the contrast of an object while driving the photographing lens independently of a detected result is executed. If the search ing operation is executed when the low contrast state is generated even in the focusing operation during continuous photographing, a using state following up the moving object in the continuous photographing state is often generated, so that the maneuverability is extremely deteriorated. Thereby, a microcomputer PRS inhibits the searching operation when the camera is in the continuous photographing state. Consequently, the operability in the continuous photo graphing state can be improved. |
