PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording material, which has favorable running properties at printing, which can be easily cut off after printing and the cut-off section of which is smooth and which is excellent in lustrous properties and ink absorbency. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording material is a resin-covered paper having its thickness of 100 μm or more, which is formed by covering both the sides of a base paper with a polyolefin resin, or a plastic film having its thickness of 100 μm or more, which is formed by providing an ink accepting layer including fine inorganic particles on one side thereof. The ink jet recording material has an easily cuttable micro-machine-cut portion, the length of the tie portion of which is 0.5 mm or less, the ratio of the length of the cut portion/that of the tie portion of which is 1.7 or more and the depth of the cut portion of which reaches the total thickness of the recording material. Alternatively the ink jet recording material has an easily cuttable micro-machine-cut portion having a cut portion, which reaches the depth half-cut from the opposite side of the continuous half-cut portion to a depth smaller than the total thickness of the recording material from the surface of the other side of the recording material. |
