PURPOSE:To make solidified shell uniform so as to obtain the good surface quality of cast slab by preserving/utilizing the flow energy of molten metal in mold. CONSTITUTION:The angle, which is of between the adjacent blocks of continuous casting mold consisting of a pair of blocks 2 faced each other and a pair of blocks 5 sandwiched between the blocks 2 and faced each other, are made to all 90 deg., further one at least is made to >=90 deg.. The inner wall shape of mold is in point symmetry for the center axis of mold, not in line symmetry. Molten metal is discharged so as not to collide vertically on the inner wall of mold from the immersed nozzle 1 at the center of mold. |
