The process makes it possible to create a decorative motif on a polytetrafluoroethylene coating applied to a metal substrate. This process comprises the following stages: A layer comprising an anti-adhesion coating product based on a dispersion of PTFE, which may or may not be coloured, is applied to the metal substrate; after drying and before this layer is sintered, a coloured composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of fluorinated hydrocarbon resin or fluorinated hydrocarbon resin (fluorocarbonate) in powder form is applied to it through a serigraphy screen with the addition to it of a thickening agent and/or gelling agent and a water- miscible solvent, and the two layers obtained in this way are cured simultaneously so that the particles of PTFE and fluorinated hydrocarbon resin sinter. Use, particularly for externally and/or internally decorating tools coated with PTFE.
