PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and to shorten the assembly time by matching the joint surfaces of an optical element holder and an optical fiber holder with each other in parallel by a two-axial gimbals jig and putting a brake, provided to the rotary shaft of the two-axial gimbals jig, in operation in such state. CONSTITUTION:The joint surfaces of the optical element holder 5 and optical fiber holder 7 are matched with each other in parallel and in this state, the brakes 12a and 12b provided to the rotary shaft of the two-axial gimbals jig 11 are put in operation to hold the optical element holder 5 in the state where the parallelism between the joint surfaces are accurately held. In this case, the joint surfaces of the optical element holder 5 and optical fiber holder 7 are matched in parallel without any high-accuracy machining for the parallelism and squareness between the joint surfaces and respective holders and the parallelism between the holding jigs need not be adjusted. Consequently, the components become inexpensive and the assembly time becomes short. |
