PURPOSE:To perform long-distance optical communication without being affected by attenuation of the absorption spectrum in the air. CONSTITUTION:At the time of transmission, an input signal is inputted to a package 14 after being amplified by an amplifier 13 in a transmitter 11, and an internal semiconductor laser 15 modulates oscillated light in accordance with the input signal to convert it into an optical signal. The oscillated light from the semiconductor laser 15 is converted into parallel beams L2 by a collimator lens 21 and is sent to the space. At the time of reception, the optical signal from the transmitter 11 is received through a condensing optical system 22 and a band pass filter 23 by a photodetector 24, and an output signal is outputted through an amplifier 26. |
