Tap with valve and cartridge

An orifice on the valve (1) on the side opposing the tap outlet (11) is used to form the hollow tap outlet and can be closed off by its own cover (121) as fitted with a guide for the operating rod (14). The body (1) is a brass pressing for preference, using the orifice for core etc withdrawal after the casting operation, leaving the tap outlet as a bored connection to the nozzle etc (5). The same is true of an injection-moulded plastics design, the core here removed via the orifice specified. The outlet contains a water pipe (4) joined to the mains and also to the valve cartridge (3) via the inlet and outlet ends of the water guide piece (2). The pipe connects otherwise to the main tap outlet (5). The pipe is made of plastics supported via flange (41) in the recessed part (110) of the main body (1), and an O-ring (22) round outlet (21) bears sealably on the inside of the pipe flange (41) in the guide piece sidewall, also made of plastics.
