PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector where sure locking to the counterpart connector with lock release is facilitated, and size reduction is realized. SOLUTION: In the electrical connector provided with a lock part 15 locking with a lock part 40 of a counterpart connector 30 at insertion coupling with the counterpart connector 30, and an operating part 14B for giving operating force for bending and deforming an elastic arm part to release its locking, at the elastic arm part 14 extended from a housing 11 in free elastic bending deformation, the lock part 15 and the operating part 14B are provided so as to assume a range overlapped with each other in an extension direction of the elastic arm part 14.
