PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly recover a carrier by preventing an invalid phase error value from being outputted from a phase error detection section so as to attain earlier pulling-in of phase synchronization. SOLUTION: A phase error detection section 5 is provided with 1st and 2nd phase error detection circuits 11, 12, a selector 13 that selects either of outputs from the phase error detection circuits corresponding to an area detected by an area detection circuit 10, a phase error storage circuit 16 that stores a phase error value of the 1st phase error detection circuit 11 corresponding to areas A, C that are detected and have no phase error, an error quantity discrimination circuit 17 that invalidates a phase error value of the 2nd phase error detection circuit 12 corresponding to an area B that has a phase error when the circuit 17 compares the stored phase error with a setting value and the phase error value is larger than the setting value, and a selector 18 that selects a phase error value of the phase error storage circuit 16 as a phase error value of an area whose invalidity is discriminated by the error quantity discrimination circuit 17. |
