The brake control consists of a front brake lever and a combined brake lever (32) which operates both front and rear brakes via linked cables (34, 35). There is a force distribution lever (33) in a housing situated adjacent to the combined brake lever. The linked brake cable and distribution lever housing (57) is situated on the forward side of the motorcycle handlebar, with the two brake cables positioned vertically one above the other with a gap between them. The housing is also equipped with a lock (70) which holds at least one of the brakes in the 'on' position and is connected to an additional lever (72) on the outside of the housing.
