OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide an optical information recording/reproducing device provided with an optical head incorporating a laser diode formed on a semiconductor substrate through an insulation layer capable of writing the data at high speed and also improving the reliability of operation reading the data. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode 4 is formed on the semiconductor substrate 1 through a photodiode 8 and the insulation layer 3 respectively. An electrode 5 of a side being in contact with the insulation layer 3 of the laser diode 4 is made fixed potential, and a modulation signal is imparted to the electrode 6 of the side not being in contact with the insulation layer 3 through a transistor 7. Then, a voltage changes only on the electrode of the side opposite to the layer 3.
