PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener composition capable of imparting smoothness to textiles especially to chemical fiber textiles and preventing growth of germs slipped in when refilling the composition. SOLUTION: This softener composition has pH of 1.5-5.5 and comprises (A) a silicone derivative, (B) an amine compound containing no aromatic ring and having one or more 16-26C (un)saturated hydrocarbon group, a neutralized product of the compound and/or a quaternary product of the compound, (C) an isothiazolone-based organic sulfur compound, a benzisothiazolone-based organic sulfur compound and/or benzoic acid and the like, (D) one or more of 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol, phenyl ether compounds having 2-3 chlorine atoms and a hydroxyl group in a molecule, amine compounds having two 6-14C (un)saturated hydrocarbon groups in a molecule, neutralized products of the amines and/or quaternary products of the amines, amine compounds having a 8-18C (un)saturated hydrocarbon group and a benzene ring, neutralized products of the amines and/or quaternary products of the amines.
