摘要 The invention relates to a sample melting device consisting of a graphite crucible and an associated crucible carrier, for use for gas analyses in metals. A high melting effectiveness, with outgassing of the metal sample, is to be achieved at the lowest possible energy supply. The shape of the graphite crucible is such that the melting temperature is reached in the region of the crucible where the sample is located. The graphite crucible is of hollow cylindrical shape in its upper portion and has a relatively thick floor. The transition from the external diameter of the cylindrical portion to the external diameter of the floor, which is smaller, is provided with a radius with respect to the longitudinal axis of the crucible. A surface of small cross section, and thus high electrical resistance, then arises at the height of the floor of the internal bore, so that a high temperature is reached when a current is passed through. <IMAGE>
