<p>The invention relates to the production of secondary steel based on scrap. According to the invention, the scrap is fed into a scrap preheater via a charging device, is preheated therein, is then transferred into a melting unit, and is fused exclusively with the aid of primary energy. The invention is characterized in that the process gases that are discharged from the melting unit are used indirectly by heating a gaseous preheating medium, e.g. air or inert gas, rather than being used for directly preheating the scrap, thus making it possible to energetically, fluidically, and spatially disconnect the preheating and melting process as well as the post-combustion and preheating process.</p> |
