PURPOSE: To provide a recording film suitable for an ink jet printer absorbing ink rapidly, having pencil drawing properties on the surface of the film and hard to generate wrinkles or a curl in the printer. CONSTITUTION: A white polyester film for ink jet recording is characterized by that light transmissivity is 30% or less and in-plane double refraction is -0.02-+0.04 and has an ink receiving layer on at least the single surface thereof and an ink jet recording white polyester film has an ink layer for ink jet recording.
