PURPOSE: To reduce the risk of discharge in the vicinity of an external electrode xenon lamp and to reduce a space for loading the external electrode xenon lamp than heretofore. CONSTITUTION: The end 1e of the external electrode xenon lamp 1 is inserted to be fitted in the fitting hole 2d of a connector 2 so as to be held by a holding board 2c. The exposed part of an electrode 1c obtained by removing the insulating tube 1d of the lamp 1 is interposed and held between contacts 2a and 2b. The lamp 1 is electrically connected to an invertor substrate for turning-on through the electrode 1c and the contacts 2a and 2b of the connector 2. |
