PURPOSE: To allow the power combiner to have ease of provision for a change in number of power signals to be combined by forming a coplaner line to both sides of a printed circuit board, connecting them in cascade so as to form directional couplers by the coplanar lines. CONSTITUTION: A directional coupler with a coupling amount of 3dB is formed by coplanar lines 5, 7 symmetrical in (line length λ/4)×(wavelength reduction rate) on the front surface of a printed circuit board, and a directional coupler with a coupling amount of 4.7dB is formed by coplanar lines 6, 8 with the same line length is formed in parallel on the rear surface. A signal at an equal level of an input signal at an input terminal 1 with a phase difference of 90 deg. is given to a terminal 2 and a signal with a phase difference of -180 deg. is given to a terminal 3 to provide an output of combined power of 1:1 or 2:1 to a terminal 4 by the coplanar lines 5, 7 or 6, 8 respectively. When power signals are combined by increasing number of inputs, a coupler with a coupling amount of 6dB by coplanar lines formed similarly to both sides of other printed circuit board is used to conduct power combination of 3:1 with an input signal having a phase difference of -270 deg.. |
