PURPOSE: To utilize a facsimile equipment effectively by allowing the user to receive a facsimile signal by using a data terminal anywhere, observing a received image displayed on a screen and printing out the received signal only when the user discriminates print-out to be required. CONSTITUTION: Upon the receipt of a call from a public line 102, a master set 1 sends an external line incoming signal 2403 to a data terminal 104-A via a connector 2. A data terminal receiving the signal displays call reception on a display device. Upon the receipt of the incoming call by the data terminal, the data terminal sends a reply signal and the master set receiving the signal, sends an external line reply enable signal. The data terminal receiving the signal applies ADPCM decoding to the signal to decode the signal into a voice signal, it is demodulated by a facsimile MODEM and an image is displayed on a display section of the data terminal. While the facsimile image is displayed, when a recipient discriminates print-out to be required, the application program of the data terminal executes 'print-out'. Thus, image data required to be printed out are sent at a high speed. |
