Pet food products that rattle

Pet food products, especially treats for cats and dogs, comprise edible particles (2, 2') enclosed within an edible outer casing (1) in such a way that the particles collide with one another and with the casing and make a noise when the product is moved. Preferably the casing is made of baked dough enriched with meat or meat extract. The casing has a dry outer surface and a moist inner surface. The outer surface may be roughened, flocked, dyes and/or perfumed. The casing is ovoid or shaped like a mouse or fish. The particles are based on a mixture of carbohydrates, proteins, fat, fibre and minerals. The particles may contain veterinary medicaments, vitamins, trace elements, amino acids preservatives, antioxidants or flavours.
