The invention relates to a rotary internal combustion engine meant to produce mechanical work as a result of constant-volume fuel combustion. According to the invention, the engine comprises a stator (1) and a rotor (2) wherein an even number of high-pressure constant-volume combustion chambers (3) are located, the pressure of the combustion gases stored within said chambers (3) being controlled by some valves (4), upon releasing the said gases there being obtained a substance impulse of much higher pressure and flow rate as compared with a classic engine, which is led through a convergent nozzle to some tangential cavities (5) located within the rotor (2) and sealed by means of some rings (6) which slidably rotate on the stator (1), where the gases create by impulse a rotor moment, the rotor (2) being fixed on a shaft (9), the air required for combustion coming from a cylinder (10) with slots wherein there are placed two double-acting pistons (11) which are imparted a reciprocating motion by means of some connecting rods (12), the air being compressed and sent by some intake manifolds (13) to the combustion chambers (3). |
