According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for sensing an event, which is performed in an apparatus for sensing an event, comprises: a step of receiving data on an image inside a tunnel from any one first image photographing device among a plurality of image photographing devices installed on the tunnel for communication of a vehicle to perform photographing in a progressing direction of a vehicle; a step of extracting each of a vehicle speed, a number of vehicles and a vehicle congestion time from the received data on the image inside the tunnel to generate a first vehicle data; a step of calculating an average vehicle speed, an average number of vehicles and an average vehicle congestion time during each predetermined time by using the first vehicle data; and a step of determining whether one of the calculated average vehicle speed, the calculated average number of vehicles and the calculated average vehicle congestion time corresponds to a preset event generation condition. Accordingly, the prevent invention has an advantage that generation of an event is determined when the vehicle data extracted from the data on the image inside the tunnel corresponds the preset event generation condition, thereby automatically detecting an event inside the tunnel. |
