<p>A device for driving a tape-like recording medium comprises a pair of flywheels each being rotated, a first reel base, a second reel base, a first reel gear section rotating with the first reel base disposed on the first reel base, a second reel gear section rotating with the second reel base and disposed on the second reel base, and a transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotating force from either of the flywheels by the engagement with the corresponding first or second reel gear section, the transmission mechanism including an intermediate gear to which the rotating force is transmitted from the one of the flywheels and a rotation detection mechanism for detecting the rotation of this intermediate gear.</p> |
