Compounds of the formula IN WHICH R1 represents an aminopyridinium radical and R2 a heterocyclic radical of aromatic character, bonded to the sulphur atom via a carbon atom, and containing at least 2 nitrogen atoms and additionally a further hetero-atom selected from nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur. They have antimicrobial activity.
