PURPOSE:To prepare a supporting body for a two-directional roller device through the press-work for a steel plate by welding a pipe piece, each supporting body, and the superposed rib parts. CONSTITUTION:The main plate part 47 of a blank 40 is formed into a boss part 43 by the application of press work onto the blank 40, and the inside parts 48a and 48a of the both vane parts 48 and 48 are formed into a pair of rib parts 44 and 44, and the outside parts 48b and 48b are formed into a pair of arms 42 and 42, and a supporting piece 4 is formed. The recessed surface of the boss part 43 of each supporting piece 4 is closely attached onto the outer peripheral surface of a pipe piece 5 by arranging a prescribed number of supporting pieces 4 onto the periphery of the pipe supporting piece 5, and the rib parts 44 and 44 are superposed onto the rib parts 44 of the contiguous supporting pieces 4. A supporting piece 3 is completed by fixing through the welding of the pipe piece 5, boss part 43, and the superposed rib parts 44 and 44.
