PURPOSE:To propagate multiplex transmission light by taking out light of a plurality of wavelengths through a stimulated Brillouin light generator from a single light source. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted by a light source 11 is divided into two rays of light by a photocoupler 12-1, while one ray is modulated by an external modulator 15-1 to become a first transmission ray of light. The other ray is amplified by an optical amplifier 13 and enters an optical fiber 14 to generate light by the stimulated Brillouin effect. The light is taken out by a photocoupler 12-2, inputted into an external modulator 15-2, modulated, and becomes a second ray of transmission light. Finally, the first and the second rays of transmission light are coupled in a photocoupler 12-3 to become multiplex transmission light. |
