[Also in Division F2] A building block 1 of asbestos cement, &c. is formed with at least one, preferably lined, duct 2-8 extending from end-to-end, a hole 22 is made in one face of the block to intersect a selected duct, e.g. the duct 6, and a pipe, e.g. the end of a sink waste pipe 21, is then introduced into the hole and tightened in place. The pipe 21 is secured in the hole 22 by a rubber sleeve, an O-ring, &c. Taps are introduced into holes 23, 24 intersecting the ducts 2, 3, recesses being provided in the ducts opposite to the holes. The duct 8 may be used for ventilation. The blocks may be equal to one, two or three of the storeys of a house in height. Blocks 1 may rest one on top of the other, with a gasket 11, O-rings, &c providing sealing for the ducts 2-8. A guide pin 13 on one block 1 may engage in a recess in the abutting block 1. Nuts and bolts 15 in recesses may be provided to secure albutting blocks 1 together. |
